Review: Hush Hush - Becca Fitzparick.

Date pub.: 10/13/09
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Pages: 391
Synopsis.
''For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her...until Patch comes along.
With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment, but after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is far more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.''

My Review.
Hush Hush was one of the first books I've read when I started reading in English a little more than a year ago.
I love heroines I can relate to, that don't have anything special to them (no special abilities etc.). Nora, the heroine of the novel is your typical teenager, has very good grades and isn't really into boys. Then comes the bad guy. That's when I wish she had made smarter decisions about him. Like hanging out alone in the dark streets is a good idea ? Who would actually do that ? Patch, the bad guy - love interest, goes from using her to falling for her in very little time, although they don't really get to know each other that much. But I have to admit that I didn't get bored and couldn't stop reading. During the whole book, I was entertained and couldn't help but wonder who's good and evil ? What's happening and what's just an illusion ? It's a great debut novel and Becca definitely did a great job considering it's her first book. Although I wish more things were explained in the book, I'm pretty excited to read Crescendo. It's on my wish list and I hope to be given more informations about why her, why he fell for her etc.

My Rating :  ½
For fans of: Fallen, the hollow, twilight
